Designed by Teddy Sumner, design director and a principal at M&K, the collection takes its name from the Paracas people of pre-Colombian Peru who are famous for their brightly colored mantals made of tropical bird feathers. The large pools of color, reminiscent of Rothkoês color field paintings serve to anchor the overall design of an interior. The carpets are woven in Nepal in MK's Dekyi quality. As a result of the variation in handspun yarns the wool yarn characteristically accepts the dyes in a modulated way giving the color of these carpets much richness and interest.
